Known as the "King of Terriers," the Airedale, is the greatest of all terriers. The breed originates from the valley of the River Aire in Yorkshire, where it was used for catching rats and otters in the area between the valley Aire and the river Wharfe. In addition, the Airedale has become an ideal working dog. It has proved its value during the Second World War. Smart, outgoing, playful and confident Terrier delights the owners of these dogs.

It can be aggressive to dogs and other animals; may chase a prey for a long, which is why it can be difficult to handle it. It is said, that Airedale doesn't begin a fight, but ends it. It enjoys the company of the family of its master, loves to tinker and play, throw toys, steal dirty socks, drag the food from the kitchen. In general, it is such a mischief. Airedale often behaves like a puppy in old age too.
