Could it be the other way? Today, in the bustling world we are looking for a small outlet. Yorkshire Terrier is an excellent creature: a small size, does not shed, funny, naughty, nice and loyal.
Unfortunately, many Yorkshire Terriers have pathologies. How to help a pet?
Firstly, it is necessary to choose the right food. Secondly, the responsible master should know about the most common diseases that occur at these lovely dogs.
Diseases of puppies:
- Hyperdontia (the presence of milk and molar teeth at the same time);
Genetic abnormality that occurs in those dogs who had such problems for generations. The diagnosis can be made only after 9 months of life.
Treatment: surgery.
- Portosystemic shunting;
Portosystemic shunting is a vascular pathology that occurs during prenatal development. It manifests in little dogs of small breeds.
Because of this disease, the dog of small size (puerilism), has vomiting of strange etymology, often there are seizures.
Diagnosis:
A vet examines the level of acid in the blood, to exclude or confirm the diagnosis of congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt.
Treatment: surgery. To do this ameroid constrictor is set.

Diseases of adults:
- Pancreatitis;
Pancreatitis is a pancreas disease of infectious and inflammatory nature.
The disease develops because of fatty foods.

In consequence of that, the dog vomits, cannot go to the toilet, or vice versa - diarrhea can occur. As a consequence - the refusal of food.
Diagnosis:
The diagnosis is confirmed by medical history, ultrasound data, the study of blood, feces.
Rehabilitation:
A strict diet, contributing to reduced production of an enzyme (it is not allowed to feed the animal with natural products. Use only specially designed feeds for York).
If necessary, to remove the symptoms, analgesic, antiemetic, anti-bacterial drugs are used.
- Hydrocephaly;
This is a congenital disorder that is characterized by accumulation of spinal fluid in the ventricles of the brain, which leads to pressure of neural tissue of the brain.
The skull of the animal is deformed. Strange behavior appears - tilts of the head, poor vision, seizures.
Rehabilitation:
Anti-shock, diuretics, anti-inflammatories are used.
- Legg–Calvé–Perthes Disease
The animal is lame. Lameness is progressive in nature.
- Muscle atrophy;
Treatment: surgery.
