In our conditions, long keeping of puppies leads to significant material expenses. In addition, feeding dog should eat abundantly, otherwise its body would be exhausted. So many breeders ask to take the puppy away on the 30-40 day of life. Don't worry, it's easy to grow up a healthy dog from such a puppy. Try to consider the recommendations on proper feeding and raising puppies at this age.
Please note, responsible breeders try not to leave in the offspring more than 6 puppies. An exception can be made only for brest-feeding mother which has a lot of milk, but in this case no more than 8 puppies. Otherwise the kids will be underfeed and there's a threat to the development of rachitis.
The conditions where a puppy is kept are very important. Puppy's place should be dry and clean. A healthy puppy looks moderately plump but not fat. Excess weight, especially of large breeds, leads to stress on the skeleton, and in the future, you can get a dog with a weak back or other defects which in the first months of life can't be seen.
Try to find out the age of puppies' mother. It should be at least 2 years old and no older than 8. If the last time the dog gave birth less than a year ago, don't take the puppy from this offspring.
A good breeder will wonder whether you have experience in keeping such breed of dog. If you're a beginner he'll try to communicate regularly with you, help with advices in education, give advice on a special pet diet.
If you don't know when t buy a puppy: in the autumn or in the spring, you should know that each case has its own nuances. The puppy born in the spring, will eat well. You will be able to walk a lot with it among fresh herbs which have a beneficial effect on the development and health. But the dog, who gave birth in the autumn, in the summer had more opportunities to receive all the necessary substances for its organism. It will give the puppies full milk. Long walks with the autumn puppy aren't desirable. But the walks should be frequent, because you have to teach it to ask out.
